The Trickster

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present;

The Trickster

This was my major project for my final year at uni (2009).

We managed to shoot this 45 minute film over about 6 shooting days at a couple of beaches down south and one friends apartment.

The original intention was to try and make a 'feature' length film, because, why not. That's what we want to do, so why not have a practice run. Unfortunately I thought I had written a longer script then I had.

Post graduation we intended on shooting a couple more scenes to properly finish the film, but life seemed to get in the way of that plan.

Also dampening our resolve was the audio issues caused by having a malfunctioning microphone cable for two of the 6 shooting days.

I have a love/hate relationship to this film. On the one hand I am really proud of what we managed to achieve with no time or money. On the other, I see all the story cliches, unfinished scenes and unresolved problems.

What really saves this film for me are the performances by this amazing group of actors we were able to drag on board our ambitious student production.
